Urban Gardener first opened its doors in Toronto's Junction Triangle in 2015 with the goal to match urban green thumbs and plant-curious city dwellers with beautiful plants for their homes. Nearly six years later, we’re grateful to be part of this vibrant neighborhood. We care deeply about our business and the community in which we operate.
Whether you’re taking home your first or hundredth plant, we want you to be happy and successful as plant parents. For this reason, we offer plant care cards with your purchase, plant advice via Instagram or email, and a blog to address your frequently asked questions. We will take the time in person to show you all your options and steer you away from plants we know won’t work for your space. For those who prefer to work with us virtually, our Community Manager will be happy to help with plant curation via e-mail These are services we happily provide free of charge.
- We partner with a few, carefully selected southern Ontario greenhouses. Together, with their growers, we work to provide you with the best quality plants possible. All plants are inspected upon arrival in our shop and treated and quarantined if we notice any sign of pests – an inevitable part of growing plants.
- We value community and strive to be positive members of our neighborhood, city and planet. We are more than a retail shop; we are part of a greater eco-system of local makers, small businesses, and Toronto residents. How we treat one another matters, and we commit to practicing our values by respecting ourselves, our customers, and our staff.
- We welcome all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, religions and abilities. You are safe here.
Come visit us Tuesday-Friday 11am-7pm and 11-6 on weekends at 1640 Dupont Street — we promise to talk your ear off about tropical plants.
